Part of the product safety compliance process is registering with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

This registration does two things for you. The first is that it provides a quick way to report and respond to the CPSC if there is ever an issue you become aware of, or to a complaint the CPSC has received.

The second thing is if you are a small batch manufacturer, that is, you are eligible under CPSC's current terms (here), then you may have some room to ease the cost of lab testing. When you register with the CPSC as a small batch manufacturer, you are able to determine if any of the requirements can be satisfied utilizing supplier statements or some at-home testing. Can I do this on my own?

Yes, absolutely! It's free and actually rather easy and quick (I have a video walk through here).

What happens after I pay?

After payment, you will receive a download and an email with a form to complete.  If you have any questions about the form, please email me at hello@TheMakersResourceShop.com.  Registration will be done based upon the information you provide to me in that form.

In January, you'll be ready to renew your number by logging into your account, selecting the boxes and confirming that everything is still correct.

My standard turn around time is 5-7 business days (Monday through Thursday).
Rush is 3 business days.
Express is 1 business day.
